Camp Erickson. I have given up getting any permission from Washington to go to Wisconsin â as they will commence drafting, there will be no necessity for raising Volunteer Regiments. Expresses regret. I should have liked very much to raise another Norwegian Regiment; but it will not be necessary now. Reports that he is passing time off studying â the Col. commanding the Brigade, is a young fellow of about my age, and a Captain in the regular Army for some time. He has a school every day â and we study millitary matters together. It is very valuable to me to have got into his Company, as I am learning a great deal.
